The headline numbers

We track Thailand eSIM pricing across 5 major providers. Here's the cost per GB (based on each provider's 1GB plan, October 2026):

Provider1GB plan$/GBValidity
Simbye$2.18$2.187 days
Yesim$2.91$2.9130 days
Saily$2.99$2.997 days
Airalo$4.00$4.003 days
Drimsim$11.47$11.47Pay-per-use

Prices from provider pages and our comparison table, checked October 2026. Drimsim is pay-per-use (no expiry) — different model, higher per-GB cost.

3 things the data tells us

1. The cheapest $/GB isn't always the cheapest trip. Simbye wins at $2.18/GB, but it's a 7-day plan. For a 3-week trip, Yesim's $2.91/GB over 30 days may cost less overall than buying three Simbye plans.
2. Validity periods are the hidden price lever. Airalo's $4.00/GB looks expensive — but the 3-day validity means you're comparing a sprint to a marathon. Always divide by your trip length, not just by GB.
3. Pay-per-use is a trap for heavy users, a deal for light ones. Drimsim at $11.47/GB is 5x Simbye — unless you use 200MB total, then it's the cheapest option with no expiry pressure.

Methodology

We check provider pricing pages directly and record the 1GB plan price and validity period. $/GB is simple division — no weighting, no sponsorship influence. We update this snapshot monthly.

Frequently asked questions

Simbye at $2.18/GB on its 1GB / 7-day plan — the lowest $/GB we recorded in October 2026.
A cheap $/GB on a 7-day plan can cost more over a 3-week trip than a higher $/GB on a 30-day plan. Always match the plan length to your trip, not just the per-GB price.
Only for very light use. Drimsim is pay-per-use with no expiry — 5x Simbye's per-GB rate, but the cheapest option if you use very little data, since nothing expires.
No. Airalo, Saily, Yesim and Drimsim are data-only — none gives you a Thai +66 number for calls or SMS OTP. For a real +66 number you need a Thai carrier eSIM.
